To old friends, a warm welcome.
We needed an assembly point, and Dale asked for me to organise this.
The easiest way to make a comment or to view comments is to click on the title of a dicussion (in this case Welcome) and a new page will come up.

Welcome to a place that has a focus (but not exclusively) on regional and rural Australia open for anyone living anywhere to read, learn and interact. Please feel free to make a comment.
You can use some HTML codes such as, a for active; b for bold; i for italics
Active code - substitute a for @

Tried to post earlier, no luck. Another test.
ReplyDeleteAha now its working, thanks to Geoff I think. Hopefully this interim site or interim name will provide the basis for bigger and better things where differing views can be presented and discussed in a non-abusive atmosphere, no ad hom attacks and free of any suggestion it should be restricted to "like minded views".
ReplyDeleteWe live in a democracy not a dictatorship and freedom of speech within bounds of decency and the above goodwill. After all, it is nearly Christmas.
I have posted a topic under Gladstone Harbour on the right but it may appear as a comment.
See I copped stick over on the unJust Grounds for some comment I was supposed to have made here about "rats" even before I posted my first comment. Figures. Great comment there today from Elizebeth F who says it like it is. "Power corrupts". Lot of lies about Dale and me. We were never part of any long term plot, I was never part of any long term contract or agreement with PRA, and we both decided to quit that site at about the same time because of the lies and attacks over there and the lack of any controls apart from the site inheritor who makes his own rules and decides what topics he wants. He wants like minded people. He can have them. He even tried telling me I should stop writing about developments in a major environmental issue putting other primary producers out of business and said he didn't give "a flying f--k about that. That's when I closed the discussion, took his advice and left the site, deleting all my discussions.
DeleteStill he complains. No pleasing some people :0)
Now Elizebeth's comment has been deleted over on the Unjust Grounds parallel world. Just proves what we all know about that site where it's The Inheritor's way or no way. Sad really as Elizebeth presented the facts which all the late comers would have had no idea of. Maybe it could be posted here?
DeleteJust had a peek back on the unJust Dirt files site where things have reached the stage where they are begging and pleading for people not to leave (one said she wanted The Inheritor to remove her and its turned into a Baby Please Don't Go string. Any other comments contrary to The Inheritors warped view get deleted which speaks for itself.
DeleteOne member even had the audacity we are being used by a "master manipulator" and that a similar bust-up would occur here. Not likely unless they try to infiltrate and their personality traits would stick out a mile.
Meanwhile, some will discover they can remove themselves simply by going to the settings page and clicking on "leave site".
Just a thought - Dale was suggesting some light relief article might help, so maybe a humour category?
ReplyDeleteWell now I have been able to comment as well, so that bodes well for others! I also think it is great that Geoff has been able to get this facility (even if in an 'interim'guise) up and running. I can't see that there is a possibility to format comments such as this with URL links, embeds, pics or whatever, but that comment probably just clarifies my rank amateur status as a 'blogger'.

DeleteHopefully, either Dale or Geoff will delete some of this 'exploratory' stuff from a mug punter like me, once things have settled down. For now, I'm wondering why I am advertising Google, rather than have my own avatar come up. I have just tried re-posting it to my profile, so here goes again.
ReplyDeleteCheers al
Hi, Just doing a test comment as asked by Dale.
ReplyDeleteCheers,

Hi All thanks Dale & Geoff for creating a new forum for us to get back to the basics. Regards
ReplyDeleteYodie
Good morning, all.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful morning in paradise and just checking out the new forum.

Welcome everyone, I've been busy the last couple of days. Just got a mob of cattle back in the paddock after an early start branding this morning.
ReplyDeleteGot more to do, will upload more tonight.
Go cowboy! I am as happy as Larry, and Nellie Melba combined - I just got my avatar to add to my posts! It was in my member profile which you see on the home page, but for some reason which I will no longer drive myself nuts thinking about, it wasn't transferring. Ah well - just another small example of the mysteries of the cyberworld.
DeleteCheers al
Thanks for setting up the new site guys, Just doing a test run for now.
